We can agree that the relationship between God and mankind is often compare of that of Husband and wife. The bible talks gives often examples of a groom and a bride. According to my husband I'm the "emotional one of our relationship" so.... I was so exited when I heard teaching of the Torah (Read in the original language) about this Character of God.
In our English bible translation of this verses, there were misusage of the words., as I heard it in the original language. In verse 9 in our english/spanish translation the wording "third and fourth generations"does not appear in the Hebrew, but it does show that the sin of a father will be reflected for a long time HOWEVER, if one is to follow God's commands and LOVE Him, he will show Deep compassioned kindness - the emotion that causes God to show compassion!
God's feeling to show compassion and creative kindness to those who love him! I mean He can have some AWESOME ideas how to show up and show off in our lives! I got some stories!
Doesn't the scriptures show that all God wanted with mankind was to have communion? After created the first man God will walk and be in the Garden with Adam and Eve having total communion - I mean communion everyday at all time...
Genesis 3:8 They heard the voice of Adonai, God, WALKING in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, so the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of Adonai, God, among the trees in the garden"
So after the fall of man (the first marriage disagreement) caused us - human race- that daily face-to-face communion with Adonai. One of his name IS El Kanah – The Jealous God.
Someone made a good point about cheating (in the spiritual sense) My husband will be pretty upset if I display pictures of my ex-boyfriend in the place I call home with my current husband. I mean Cory is a very patient guy but he would go ballistic! Besides being disrespect, that would show no regards for the one I promised to share the rest of my life with...
In the same manner God is so interested in loving us and have communion with us that he even gave us a second chance after our big mess ups... A day of communion is what the Jewish people call Sabbath!
And on the seventh day God finished his work which he had made, and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. Genesis 2:2
For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD Exodus 31:15
I know God wasn't tired that he needed the day off, perhaps he wanted to "take the day off" and have full communion with His creation... Just Him and what He created and saw that it was good!
So every Friday evening, my groom, my creator, my Abba Father, my everything has set a date time to meet weekly. I choose to honor the appointed time He has chosen for our meet and greet. Just as I have a "date night" with my husband. Nothing else matter, but Him!
So don't let anyone pass judgment on you in connection with eating and drinking, or in regard to a Jewish festival or Rosh-Hodesh or Shabbat. These are a shadow of things that are coming, but the body is of the Messiah. Colossians 2:16-17
