A Dreamer

I've come to understand there is a misconception among believers and I mean God's children who have been born in Christ... (Not Justin Bieber's fans who call themselves believers)
I mean some believe that because we are in Christ, we will not have difficulties.

Have you heard about Joseph? Some call him the dreamer, others the prince of Egypt. I'll give you a hint, Genesis 37! The life of Joseph depicts the life of one that has overcome MANY obstacles.
Joseph, perhaps like you and me, had a dream that was only a hope, despite all opposition or disbelieve from others around him, he somehow managed to trust, he knew somehow, some day God will fulfill his dream.

Joseph's story from Genesis 37 vs. 2 says that he was just 17 years old when he had the first dream, later in the chapter we know he shares the dreams with his family.

V.5 Joseph had a dream, and when he told it to his brothers.
V.9 Then he had another dream, and he told it to his brothers.
V.10 When he told his father as well as his brothers, his father rebuked him and said, “What is this dream you had? Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow down to the ground before you?”
V11 His brothers were jealous of him, but his father kept the matter in mind.

That's the part that I am having an issue with ... Trust!

Right after the dreams, the story goes that he was sold into slavery by his own brothers! The worse sibling rivalry in History .... He had no chance, it was 11 against 1.
A dream of success and a position of power yet his reality was a very different one.
But even as a slave God's favor did not depart (Genesis 39:2-4)

There was no bible, there was NO WAY he could know while Joseph was slaved (Genesis 37:13-36) that his dream was going to be fulfill. I mean think about it! You have a dream you will be the next president of the United States of America and you work your hardest for it, and something happens later in life and you find yourself in Prison. How easy it is for you to cling unto this dream of yours?

For Joseph even in Prison found God's favor (Genesis 39:21).

I know we live in a different time, but HEY! God is the same yesterday, today and he will be the same tomorrow.

I'm going to take a chance and say it is not about the people you are surround it with, nor even the mess you probably started on "your own" but it is all about God's time to activate your dream.

A dream God Joseph into this mess - slaved, with a felony record - and a dream God him out of it.

Long story short, he was 30 years old when he saw the fulfillment of his dream and more. That's a 13 year "delay"! (Genesis 41:46)

But was it really a delay? Isn't God almighty and the source of all? Couldn't God just overnight deliver Joseph's dream into a Reality?
I believe he could have! However,  God is also omniscient!  He knows all things.
In the same way he needed to build character in Joseph,  and prepare him for the bigger blessing he was going to be for his family and his people during the years of famine, the same way God deals with you and me. Well, I'm not sure what's going on with you today but this week I've been feeling as if things could be expedited a bit more....

After remembering the life of Joseph I decide to keep pressing on and speak to my situations this week. I will not see it as a delay, but as GOD'S PERFECT TIMING for delivering the answer.

What's your dream? Don't give up, just keep pressing on and moving forward!
